**Your Opportunity**
Engineering Internships at Stantec involve responsibilities and work that is quite varied and stimulating. In this position as an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team working on active projects with varying levels of complexities. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. You will perform a variety of selected tasks and assignments to continue to develop knowledge and skills to help you succeed in the Energy Transition.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Assist in report preparation and assessments.
+ Assist in data integration with reliance on spreadsheets and databases.
+ Utilize applicable technical knowledge to add value to projects.
+ Strengthen technical knowledge through on-the-job, informal, and formal training.
+ Become familiar with and ensure appropriate reference material is utilized.
+ Become familiar with the applicable codes and legislation through document review discussions with experienced engineers.
+ Compliance with Stantec’s EH&S program.
+ Assist Project managers and engineers in daily project tasks as assigned
+ Establish and maintain positive client relationships.
+ Become familiar with engineering documents needed to advance projects from concept to reality
+ Become familiar with early site investigation to identify any environmental risks to the project.
+ Become familiar with design approach to avoiding or permitting for projects with wetlands
+ Become familiar with project phases and engineering input needed at each phase.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Qualifications**
+ Enrollment in an engineering discipline: i.e. Environmental and/or Project Manager skills
+ Strong technical proficiency.
+ Willingness to support various tasks as a support role.
+ Sound interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Proven initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
+ Eager to ask questions and learn from relevant project tasks assigned.
The Engineering Intern should have an Environmental focus with a minimum completion of 3rd year of an undergraduate program with a technical background. Related experience in the renewal energy industry will be considered an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
