The Work You’ll Do

As a Sales Director, you will lead a regional sales team and report directly to the Vice President of Sales. You’ll be responsible for delivering revenue growth by developing team members, driving new business acquisition, and expanding existing client relationships within your territory.

This role includes hiring and coaching Account Executives, crafting regional sales strategies, and working cross-functionally to bring Sovos solutions to the market. You will be a key contributor in strengthening Sovos’ presence across your assigned region.

More Specifically, You Will:

Exceed assigned sales quotas through new account acquisition and client expansion

Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing regional sales team

Build and execute territory business plans aligned with corporate goals

Maintain deep knowledge of Sovos solutions and relevant compliance trends

Lead the sales engagement process from discovery through close

Conduct needs assessments to identify tax and technology challenges

Deliver tailored, high-impact product demonstrations

Collaborate with Sovos teams across channels and functions

Represent Sovos at local trade shows and industry events

Build relationships with consultancies and partners influencing buying decisions

Lead or contribute to RFP/RFI responses

Foster a team culture of integrity, accountability, and customer satisfaction

 

What We Need From You

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, or related field (preferred)

Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise sales with a proven track record of exceeding targets

Experience in any of the following areas:

Tax automation, compliance, or consulting (Big 4 or Tier 2 firms)

Tier 1 or 2 ERP platforms (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft)

Middleware or bolt-on solutions for ERP clients

Understanding of accounting principles and sales & use tax compliance

Familiarity with database, application server, and web server architecture

Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally

Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
