Job Description

Design Engineer based in Peterborough

Competitive salary between £35000 and up to £45000 depending on experience.

The Peterborough facility has two functional areas; an engineering facility that designs and builds mobile water treatment equipment, and a plant that regenerates ion exchange resin and works with cutting edge membrane technologies to provide mobile water treatment equipment for customers.

We are a friendly site, big enough to give you a good introduction to the corporate world, but small enough that you will know everyone that you work with and will understand the importance of building good working relationships.

Design Engineer
The Design Engineer will report to Global Engineering and Asset Leader and operationally report to Team Leader, you will be responsible for the list of key roles listed below in the Peterborough facility and Global Asset design engineering. Outgoing and interested in how things work, you will have a natural curiosity that will prompt you to explore where we could be working smarter, Service in mind design approach, faster and better, and we will see the output from this in cost savings, smart solution, quality and on time delivery.

Flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation; You will understand early on that our customers matter to us.

You will spend your time across the office environment at Peterborough site, and in the Plant /in the shop floor, occasional site visit/ customer meetings; Working with our teams and growing in skills and confidence as you progress toward Project Engineer.

Key roles

Develop 3D model designs in in Solid works or Autocad and produce details fabrication drawing and reviewsSupport Design and project engineering of Mobile Assets, Water treatment systems for Build, Own and operate plants and Mobile fleets upgrades.Work very closely with the design team to support drafting and develop designs.Material and Equipment selection for the designs, comply with specifications and certifications.Manage the customer deliverable for Customer facing projects.Work in SAP business tool: Material Master, Inventory, drawing and BOMSupport Environment Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, MOC engineering actions and HAZOPs.Provide support for finding suppliers and parts; Technical review of the quotesSupport Manufacturing Engineering and drawing management to shop floors in Peterborough, Wuxi, Norfolk, Minnetonka, Guelph and other build locationsExtended Support for Commercial Engineering team, Mobile PM team and Plant supports.Training/ Coaching Engineering interns, new starters and outsource engineeringSite visits and as built surveys.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills; B.Sc / M.Eng / M.Sc Engineering, Preferred in Mechanical / Chemical/
Industrial/ Electrical/ Environmental Engineering.

Work Experiences; 2-3 years minimum work experience / Industrial Placement trainings in Water
Industry,

Preferred Specialist skills/knowledge- Advantages skills such as SAP, Auto CAD and Solid works
