Introduction
Design Engineer, work primarily with slurry Valves designs who can develop products from concept to launch and coordinates with departments such as operations, services, and marketing to ensure product’s success.
What you’ll do
Research and determine specifications for products including the right materials, measurements, and structures. Should use analytical approach to solve a problem and know hand calculations. Apply design concepts with depth knowledge of machine design. Creates 3D models utilizing Metso current design software like AutoCAD, Inventor & Solid works. Creates manufacturing drawings, based on standard designs and calculations. Assisting with problems regarding proto assembly or parts incorrectly fabricated etc. Performs basic strength evaluations/calculations. Maintain drawing/Vault, Team Center & Enovia database, Key user. Perform documented product safety review as a part of the daily design process Develops new solutions independently and in project teams. Maintains good order and efficiency in his/her work. Takes part in design reviews. Participates as team member and sometimes a leader in development project for slurry valves. Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with relevant focus area towards Design Engineering, or 3 – 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and design. Experience in use of 3D CAD modelling tools and Inventor is considered an advantage. Experience of Slurry Valves, castings, welded design, rubber parts is a plus.
