The Work You'll Do:
The Customer Marketing Manager is a skilled and collaborative marketer who understands the power of advocacy marketing and the impact of the customer voice. This role is responsible for supporting and coordinating initiatives throughout the post-sale customer journey to drive engagement, increase value realization, reduce churn, and strengthen advocacy.
With experience in high-tech environments and a background in tax compliance, this individual will help implement customer programs that promote adoption of Sovos solutions, support customer retention, and elevate customer advocates. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with internal teams — including Customer Success, Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Support, and Account Management — to ensure an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint.
More specifically, you will:
Customer Experience: Contribute to customer journey mapping and coordinate marketing initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience Lifecycle Programs: Manage lifecycle nurture programs, event-driven campaigns, and adoption-focused content, including targeted messaging for at-risk accounts Persona Development: Create and maintain customer personas to inform marketing strategies, communications, and campaign tactics Communication & Growth Strategy: Partner with marketing and client operations to optimize customer communications; collaborate with Product Marketing on growth campaign strategies and align efforts with Account Management Advocacy Program Management: Support the development and execution of advocacy initiatives, including promotion strategies, outreach, and recruitment of customer advocates Event Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams on planning and executing engaging customer events Best Practices: Promote and share customer marketing best practices, program templates, and performance metrics internally Cross-functional Relationship Building: Build strong partnerships across marketing, sales, client operations, product management, and customer successWhat We Need From You
3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., Services, Support, Customer Success, or Marketing) Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage projects independently with a customer-first mindset Strong copywriting and communication skills; design/layout experience is a plus Effective interpersonal skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders Ability to stay focused and calm in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong multitasking capabilities Analytical and solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities and solve challenges Creative thinker with a passion for customer engagement and advocacy Curiosity and a growth mindset, with a desire to learn about people, products, and evolving industry trends Minimal travel required (less than 25%), both domestic and international, to Sovos offices and events Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hireWhat Does Sovos Offer You?
