**Your Opportunity**
We are looking for a bold, strategic and collaborative leader with a strong business acumen, who will foster a people first culture, deliver transformational projects, and focus on operational excellence and efficiency. Reporting to the Business Operating Unit Leader (BOUL) for Infrastructure, the Community Development Business Leader (CD BL) is accountable for leading, managing and growing the CD business line in North America through strong financial performance, effective marketing & business development, strong client relationships, talent attraction and development, resource management, and efficient project delivery. The CD BL will inspire and optimize team performance on the top line and bottom line using strong leadership skills and influencing expertise, that will lead to innovative solutions that exceed client expectations and grow Stantec's market position.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
Financial Management
* Responsible for the annual business plan and budget, outlining the vision, focus and strategy to meet or exceed financial targets
* Review monthly financial statements and create actionable plans to address any gaps
* Work directly with the regional business leaders (RBLs) to meet or exceed annual business plan and budget
Growth Leadership
* Accelerate growth and business development excellence
* Achieve organic growth through meeting or exceeding marketing and business development (M&BD) sales goals and budget, including internal cross-selling initiatives
* Actively maintain top pursuit lists, improving business line’s competitive capture rate
* Responsible for the performance of business line’s business development teams
* Provide strategic guidance to identify new markets, clients, and acquisitions to enhance and grow our market share
* Participate in leading industry associations and networks to build relationships and expand Stantec’s presence
* Responsible for account management of one major national business line client and function as account sponsor for several key national clients
* Personally engage directly on significant pursuits and projects within the business line
People Leadership
* Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner and source of counsel and advice for the business to enhance our position in the industry
* Build and lead a high-performing team that consistently meets and exceeds the short and long-term goals of the business. Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec's high performance culture with a focus on innovation, speed of decision making and action, and productivity.
* Support, coach, and mentor leaders, enhancing their capabilities, fostering their growth, and continuously improving their leadership skills.
* Promote cross-functional collaboration and teamwork with other Business Operating Units and partner with Functional Services teams cultivating a cohesive and supportive leadership community.
* Oversee resource management processes, talent recruitment, career & leadership development, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring
* Achieve appropriate ratios of leadership and professional employees to meet the business objectives
* Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the business line
* Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and focuses on the customer and service delivery.
Health and Safety Focus
* Promote and drive a strong health and safety culture, and meet all key performance indicators
* Promote compliance with Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment & Sustainability (HSSE) management system
Quality and Innovation Focus
* Optimize project delivery using innovation and technology in partnership with Infrastructure’s Project Delivery and Innovation Leader
* Drive compliance with Stantec’s Project Management (PM) Framework
**Qualifications**
**Education and Experience**
* A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of twenty years of related work experience; and an understanding of the broader Infrastructure market would be an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
