Cash Reconciliation Sr Specialist

As a Cash Reconciliation Senior Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring precise daily reconciliation of transactions across multiple banks and payment gateways. Your role will involve expertly mapping these transactions to General Ledger accounts and verifying the accuracy of daily deposits and refunds. About the Role:

Prepare daily bank reconciliations in a standard format and record deposits and refunds information by payment type for revenue journal entries.

File reconciliation documentation to enable quick retrieval of information to resolve issues timely.

Ensure reconciliations are completed successfully and troubleshoot any discrepancies.

Review cash exceptions daily, research differences, and resolve them accurately and timely.

Ensure the accuracy of published cash reconciliations.

Analyse data to enhance transparency, decision drivers, and efficiency.

Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure issues are reviewed and progressed to completion.

Develop expertise in team control mechanisms.

Preparing reports, maintaining records.

Identify and coordinate the escalation of priority issues.

Actively participate in team meetings, including the review of key risk and process indicators.

Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements impacting the reconciliation process

Participate and facilitate all Internal/External Audits with respect to Payments

Ability to evaluate systems, procedures and make recommendations for improvement

Identify and understand the key upstream processes that drive reconciliation and develop the ability to trace the ripple effects of changes to these processes on the reconciliation process.

Development and perform the key controls related to Reconciliation, Access management for Payment Gateways/Portals and ensure adequate risk management and adherence to SLAs.

About You:

A Bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting and Finance is a requirement for this position.

6+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, deadline orientated, payments & reconciliations operational role.

Previous experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a related finance role is preferred.

Strong, effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Hands on experience on Reconciliation processes and resolving open items

Hand on experience on SAP.

Organized approach to ensure follow up on outstanding issues and identify appropriate action to be taken.

Attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy for all deliverables.

Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to multi-task and balance requests without losing sight of overall objectives and deadlines.

Foster strong internal & external relationships, with a focus on collaboration & client service.

Insatiably curious, desire to learn more and ask inquisitive questions to come up with creative sustainable solutions.

Highly adaptable individual who can work in a dynamic environment to be able to think out of the box and “connect the dots”.

Proficiency in Microsoft office products (with an emphasis on Excel) or other programming languages and an aptitude for learning new applications.
