Jostens is hiring for an entry-level position to support our team with general accounting responsibilities, such as interplant and intercompany billing, daily and weekly reports, assisting with month-end reporting, journal entries, audit requests, cross-training/backup responsibilities, and weekly direct labor reporting.
You will collaborate and participate in departmental, Plant, and division strategic planning (annual budgets and forecasts) as business needs dictate. In addition, this position will assist other department areas with Yearbook and Commercial printing billing duties as needed to help ensure smooth financial operations.
YOU HAVE:
+ Education: Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree, and/or equivalent experience in an Accounting environment.
+ Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
+ Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel & MS Access, including data analysis & financial modeling.
+ Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
+ Team Player: Collaboration is essential to the role, you should enjoy working with others, with a passion for learning and assisting with tasks; and you should possess well-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
+ Multi-Tasker: The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
+ Adaptability: You should be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. You must be flexible to learn and use new technologies as needed.
+ Preferred skills: Prior experience with Oracle software, General Ledger and Financial reporting. Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is ideal.
YOU WILL:
+ Provide Accounting Support. Perform interplant and intercompany billing and accounting duties in support of Plant Controller and Assistant Controller.
+ Prepare Reports. Apply expertise in the use and creation of reports, MS Access Queries, Oracle Software, Excel Spreadsheets and internal systems. Update and enhance the weekly direct labor variance reporting.
+ Reconcile and Analyze. Perform analysis and reconciliation and journal entries, to include intercompany invoicing, expense allocations, journal entry input and financial statements. Perform various Fixed Asset accounting duties related to the monthly close and internal and external reporting, such as CER tracking and analysis, Additions, Tagging, and Disposals.
+ Handle Month-End Responsibilities. Assist with various month-end close duties, such as Oracle JVs, Updating month-end schedules, Direct Charges, Maintenance Contracts, and WIP tracking.
+ Engage in Special Assignments. Be ready to take on additional accounting functions as directed by the Plant Controller and Assistant Plant Controller. This can involve special projects, and providing support and backup to the YB Billing department during Peak Season and assisting Canada Billing and Commercial Billing as needed. Provide assistance to other accounting team members and to Accounts Payable as needed.
+ Strategic Planning. Participate in departmental, plant and division strategic planning (annual budgets and forecasts) as business needs dictate.
