The Associate Fellow I is a highly technical, hands-on role within the Walmart Global Tech team, responsible for supporting architectural designs and advisory across multiple enterprise business domain areas. The role uniquely drives disruptive growth across key priorities by leveraging differentiated technical prowess and leading the overall tech strategy and architecture across a business area. The right candidate would be required to delve deep into specific applications and services, work on higher-level multi-domain system designs that transcend functional boundaries, and act as a central resource. Additionally, they will be responsible for building systems, driving holistic outcomes, and curating, mentoring, and training a vibrant engineering micro-community within the team.
Some key responsibilities include:
Lead and inspire high-performing engineering teams to build and scale highly reliable, secure, and performant platform / products and frameworks.
Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution and propagate build for scale mindset.
Develop trusted partnerships with developers, business partners, product, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform / product delivery.
Lead complex technical and strategic discussions that involve multiple personas including engineering, architect, product, associate, and other stakeholders.
Assess and leverage technology when appropriate from Global solutions existing in Walmart ecosystem to build / leverage scalable and innovative solutions.
Build, mentor, and teach a community of engineers, and act as a central resource to provide advisory on complex projects and issues.
Possess a high sense of urgency to solve problems and executing them with ownership.
What you'll bring:
Engineering experience with large scale product development in open stack and microservices delivery environment.
Familiar with new technology trends.
A technical expert with in-depth knowledge in building distributed systems and products using hybrid cloud technology handling massive amounts of data. Should have built a complex microservices based platform or product.
Strong knowledge of the following:
Packaged software releases
Open-stack technology capabilities (e.g. Python, Spark, Skala)
Strong data integration capability (e.g. data engineering)
Experience or proven ability to drive technical vision and provide technical mentorship to all levels of engineering talent. Must have established credibility as an advisor on complex technical issues and projects.
Experience of working with globally distributed teams.
Preferred experiences and exposures:
Agile methodologies.
Performance instrumentation, tuning, and optimization of large-scale products.
Good knowledge in design patterns while building cloud-native products.
Hybrid workplace domain experience will be a huge positive.

The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
