Assembler III

Ecolab, the global leader in premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking an Assembler III (Panel Builder). This role is responsible for building, repairing and testing assigned electrical panels and electronics, as well as assembling both heavy and light mechanical and electrical equipment including heavy plumbing, to exact specifications, working to close tolerances.  This role is also responsible for performing final testing of equipment to ensure function and appearance standards are met.

What You Will Do:

Build and install panels for use on various types of equipmentPerform plumbing, electrical wiring, and testing of mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic components and assemble units of all types, making any necessary adjustments and correctionsAdjust, repair, or replace electrical and electronic component parts and correct defectsRead and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawingsDrill, tap, punch and cut holes in various metals to mount panel and machine componentsConstruct test and production fixtures as required to achieve efficient productionPerform layout to install hardware on electrical panels in F&BE AssemblyPerform initial production runs and prototype work from engineering and customer specificationsPerform assigned re-manufacturing operations including disassembly, minor repairs, sorting, cleaning, polishing, inspections, and re-assemblyWork closely with supervisors and engineers to resolve production problemsSet-up and use of all necessary power tools and equipment (such as pumps, air tools, motors, etc.), hand tools, fixtures and test equipment. Must provide own toolsAccurately process necessary transactions related to labor reporting and record keepingUtilize TPM tools to improve safety, efficiency, increase service to our customers, and reduce costProactively communicate maintenance needs, quality issues, or other situations that impact safety, quality, or productivity to the appropriate leaderTrain other employees, as assigned, on any job for which qualifiedOther duties as assigned                                                                                        
 

Position Details:

Plant location: Roscoe, ILWork week and shift: Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4pm, with OT on Fridays when requiredCompensation package offered: $25.00 / hour
 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent3 years of experience with assembly techniques and test procedures3 years of experience with panel building3 years of experience with color coding for basic wiring3 years of experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and electrical schematicsExperience using hand and power toolsCoursework or work experience in basic electricityCoursework or work experience in algebra, programmable logic controllers, and digital electronicsNo Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity
 

Physical Demands:

This position requires regularly lifting and carrying 50 lbsAs a prerequisite, this position requires a passing drug test and physical exam
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterityExtensive troubleshooting capabilitiesKnowledge of industry standards and practices as they relate to control enclosure/panel assembly, wiring, and safetyKnowledge of industrial electrical components such as contactors, relays, disconnects, enclosures, VFD’s, PLC’s, etc.Experience with complex tools and computer-based testingStrong analytical ability: ability to solve problems and devise methods and proceduresCollaborative skills and strong ability to work as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentGood time-management and communication skills

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

$25.00 / hour. This position pays an hourly rate and is eligible for overtime. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
