Join a team that has the environment down to a science. **Your Opportunity** Your role will involve working both independently and as a team leader for cultural resources support on various complex projects. Management and leadership opportunities include supporting a small but exceptional team of architectural historians at Stantec and helping to build a larger, cohesive team of architectural historians on the West Coast. You will work closely with Stantec's management, engineers, archaeologists, project managers, and environmental staff. Your opportunity includes helping to strengthen and improve our cultural resources team as a whole, and to build opportunities for other staff. **Your Key Responsibilities** Your tasks will include senior review, mentoring and supervising other staff, guiding project compliance strategies, assisting in proposals, scopes, and budgets, project consultation and problem-solving, communicating with upper management on team needs, reviewing determinations of eligibility (NRHP and CRHR), SHPO coordination and consultation, and report development. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Strong grasp of Section 106 steps + Familiarity with NEPA, NHPA, CEQA, and general plans as they pertain to architectural history and cultural resources management + Strong technical writing and editing skills + Team leadership skills + Experience developing or reviewing sections of EIR/EIS documents + Experience developing MOA, PA, treatment and management plans, and mitigation + Experience developing budgets and project scoping + Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain positive client relationships + A desire and willingness to work on a collaborative and productive team + Willingness to learn and adapt to difficult, often stressful situations + Experience as a decision-maker and leading a team **Education and Experience** + An advanced degree (M.A., M.S., MHC) in public history, heritage conservation, architectural history, historic preservation, or a related field that meets the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural History and History + At least 10 years of experience as a senior-level architectural historian/built environment specialist working in the cultural resources management industry or a closely related field + In-depth regulatory experience (Section 106) with NEPA and CEQA experience is a plus _This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice._ Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us. Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): **Salary Range(s):** * SF Area $128,400/CA Other Areas $112,100 - SF Area $199,100/CA Other Areas $173,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC) The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
