International expansion always requires accounting work to comply with local regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards. Each market has unique financial rules, currency conversions, and revenue recognition requirements, necessitating proper ledger mapping and reconciliation.
The ideal engineer for this space will be highly quantitative, have great judgment, and have a strong track record of delivery. You have an ability to simplify and get things done and working effectively with external and internal teams. The expansion plan has opportunity to work with different AB teams which will give you broad exposure to AB along with career growth.
In this role you will be responsible for onboarding new accounting and finance stacks, ensuring the correct permissions are in place, and performing the necessary configurations based on journal entry mappings provided by Accounting. The role requires the ability to determine and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to resolve technical problems, document issues with the appropriate level of detail, and continuously improve processes by revising and creating SOPs as needed. You must be able to apply industry best practices in systems engineering to defined projects, identify and mitigate operational and security risks, and recognize opportunities or challenges arising from technical decisions.
The role includes making necessary changes in various accounting systems. You will leverage training materials to ramp up and gain expertise in those. Managing accounting operations also includes investigating ledger variances, ensuring books are closed with appropriate adjustments, and handling system debugging, data job management, and the creation of custom queries and reports. These responsibilities require collaboration with several teams to support both forward accounting and reconciliation processes.
